Golden Seal
has been commonly used to assist in the nutritional fields for
the immune system.
It also has
astringent qualities, which may assist in the toning of the mucous
membranes throughout the body and also the toning of the blood
vessels.
The nutrients may
assist in the relief of catarrhal symptoms no matter where it is
located in the body. Some think that catarrh is only a nasal
problem, but it is a mucousy symptom that appears whenever there
is a problem. Mucous is formed, eg, when cooked food is eaten, and
the bowel can have an abundance of this extra mucous, which can form
hardened linings in the bowel, blocking nutrients from the villi
where absorption takes place. Apparently this does not occur when raw
food is eaten. When food or drink “goes down the wrong way”
mucous instantly gathers to catch it and help it to be rejected from
the respiratory system.
This herb is very
expensive due to the short supply, and this in turn is due to over
harvesting.
Fillers have
not been used to produce a cheaper product. as this would cause
a lesser amount of the alkaloid named hydrastine. (there is no
other plant, so far known, that contains this ingredient).
Nature's Sunshine
has the expertise and the technology to test for this ingredient.
