The healthy human intestinal
tract contains billions of intestinal flora
that live in a delicate balance with each
other and in symbiosis with us. We provide
them with a home, and in turn they break
down our food into easily absorbed nutrients.
They also aid digestion in a variety of
ways and promote immunity.
Factors such
as stress, environmental conditions or the
use of certain substances, such as antibiotics, can affect the
flora
vitality. Antibiotics not only kill the
harmful bacteria but also the much needed
healthy ones.This is not to say that you
should not take antibiotics if you so wish,
but it is recommended that you replace the
bacteria as soon as you have finished the
antibiotic course. I see no point in taking
Bifidophilus while still taking the antibiotic
though as they also would probably be destroyed.

FOS (short and long chain) is a blend
of dietary fiber (prebiotic) that promotes
the growth of friendly bacteria. Cultures
are freeze-dried to preserve viability,
and designed to populate the intestinal
tract.
Refrigerate
or freeze to maintain freshness. Each capsule
is coated with a “modified release” coating
so that the contents will be released in
the intestinal tract.

term,
