Recommended on the label:
Add 1 heaping
tablespoon to 2 pints boiling water and remove from heat.
Steep
for 20 minutes and strain. Yields 4 servings.

Pau d’Arco bark comes from a
tree that grows mainly in Argentina and Brazil, but also in other
tropical areas. They are tall trees growing to 30 meters and do not
develop any fungus.
It is generally known as Taheebo.

The tree bark was traditionally used
to promote health and immunity among the Incas, and is also used
today by the Indian Callawaya tribe in South America.
When harvesting, the bark is stripped
by hand in vertical strips form the ground upwards for about 6 to 7
feet only. This leaves enough bark intact to ensure that the tree
goes on living.
Pau d’Arco contains a chemical called
lapachol as a natural organic, yellow crystalline compound. It is
thought that this compound may be the substance that provides
nutritional support for the immune system. There are many other
compounds as well. The product provides nutrients for good all round
cleansing of the various systems.
Nature's Sunshine also provides this
product in capsule form and in an external lotion.
