Cardio Assurance contains nutrition
to assist the circulation to reach the peripheral
tissues, modulate blood flow, help the condition
of the blood vessels themselves, provide
antioxidant benefits and to help keep homocysteine
levels in the normal range. High levels
of this amino acid has been associated with
cardio problems, specifically damage to
the blood vessel linings, but that
is not to say that lowering it, by itself,
will prevent these cardio problems.
Hawthorn is one of the most thoroughly
researched herbs for heart and circulatory
support and is in other NSP products. It
contains flavonoids, which are very high
in antioxidants and helps maintain blood
vessels and promote blood flow in the heart
arteries. Hawthorn also aids in reducing
cholesterol synthesis as well as facilitating
the metabolism of cholesterol in the liver.
Research shows that Vitamin K2, a menaquinone,
may support bone mineral density. Recent
studies show that osteocalcin, a vitamin
K-dependant protein, improves insulin synthesis
while directing cells to store less fat.
This process plays an important role
in the regulation of fat cells and glucose
metabolism. Vitamin K2 is extracted from
soy.
Resveratrol is a polyphenolic phytoalexin,
a chemical compound that acts to support
plants that are under attack by foreign
organisms. Studies indicate that resveratrol
has promising heart-healthy benefits.
Folic acid, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12
work synergistically to metabolize homocysteine,
an amino acid that can damage blood vessel
linings.
Vitamin B6 also aids the synthesis of
coenzyme-Q10, a heart-protecting compound.
